Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Controller for a dynamic role located in California. The successful candidate will oversee high-level accounting, managerial accounting, and manage the financial activities of the company. As the head of the accounting department, the Controller will handle all aspects of accounting, from payroll to tax compliance, and will report to the Chief Financial Officer. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of accounting, including billing, financial statements, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and operations.
• Oversee payments of all accounts, ensuring timely payment of debts and obligations.
• Monitor cash and funding balances to ensure financial stability.
• Prepare and organize financial statements for internal and external audits.
• Advise on financial analyses and decision-making regarding capital investments and contract negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial laws and regulations.
• Develop and implement operational best practices and internal control policies.
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly/annual budgets and forecasts.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring a high level of team performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a CPA required.
• Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Excel.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to work well with senior executives and lead team members effectively.

Additional Details

• Salary Range: $120,000 - $170,000 per year
• This is a supervisory position
• Physical Setting: Office
